i'd like to say
fayebay:
that this summer is everything i built it up to be. but in actuality, i have no money, no job, no vehicle, no hideaway. i’d like to say having my friends around is enough. but my friends aren’t around. they’re scattered over miscellaneous states, too far to reach. i’d like to say i could just escape into books and that’d be enough, but i can’t bring myself to immerse my mind in a story...

the world without us →
stumbled across this. i am a huge fan of the history channel and the show ‘life after people.’ so i got pretty excited when i found this. this interactive chart shows how we would impact the world days, years, and millenniums after we’re gone. it’s pretty neat.
pilotlight
so my art project/blog pilot light has been neglected as of late. i know, i’m terrible. but i’m getting better. and i promise i’ll start posting more. i can’t guarantee master pieces, but i’ll definitely start posting doodles.
so if you haven’t already - check it out…

2nd random thought of the early morn...
in the morning, real morning, i am going to be a grown up.
i am going to go out and buy a watch.
i have gotten to the point where i can’t work without one.
lakes are not oceans...
no matter how much they try to convince me otherwise - a beach on a lake is not the same as a beach on the ocean. and right now, i miss the sea.
because emerson quidditch really is that intense →
this aired on mtv on wednesday. it was filmed with all of the emerson quidditch kids that could make it to boston for the filming early in june. so mad that i was stuck in ny.
body mods, our generation and where i fit in the...
so, after reading several blog posts by my fellow writers on body modification, i felt that i needed to reevaluate the choices that i’ve made.
i must admit that i’m striving for a certain appearance, and in a way i am conforming to my generation. i have more than two holes in my ears, my hair color has not been natural since junior year, and i have aspirations to get a tattoo at some...

so exciting!!!!!!
on a side note...
trains, in my mind, are officially the best mode of travel. there is something so romantic about riding a train from destination to destination that i don’t even mind if it takes hours. but then again, i have always loved the traveling part as much, if not more than, reaching the final destination.
nyc
it seems to be that whenever i go to new york city, the whole trip is a whirl wind. yesterday morning i got to the train station at 8:30, was with nikki fig and rachel in city by 2:30 and hoped a train back to lake george at 3:15 and got home just in time for dinner.
and as i sit here in bed typing this, the only evidence that proves that the whole trip really happened is my lack of cash, a metro...
middle aged
this is how i feel whenever summer hits… or at least the last two.
i get into a groove where i work non-stop, and forget how to have fun on a daily basis. during the school year between midnight and 2am, i would be sitting on the couch, eating captain crunch while watching cartoons.
today, between 12 and 2 i…

abandoment
due to hard core allergies and a busy work schedule and a brief visit to massachusetts i have abandoned my blog for the last few days, my apologies. i promise to fix this. be back soon… i promise…

what does it say about me that i suddenly find Frasier to be really funny?
beach time
today, my sister and i decided to have a picnic on one of the many beaches on lake george. while there, my sister took a picture of me with her phone and started laughing. when i asked what was up, she showed me the picture and say, “Look! It’s a rae avoiding every ray of sunlight. <laughs some more> you’re name is so ironic! mum picked a winner of a name for you.”

new blog
so the choice has been made. the new blog <pilotlight.tumblr.com> is going to be an art blog. not just any art blog - my art blog. so not only did i make a specific blog like i wanted, i found a way to force myself to create more, draw, paint, whatever; so that i won’t become stagnant. check it out if you want to.

this website is full of illustrations of literary figures by some incredible artists - including, one of my favorites - kate beaton!

new blog?
so i’ve been thinking about starting a new blog. my side project is one that i’m not really interesting in working on because its about my life here in lake george. and to be perfectly honest, its depressing. so thats that.
i want to start a new blog that is topic specific. something that i’ll update on a schedule. where as this one i update whenever with whatever i feel like....
this made me chuckle →
if you go to emerson, or know a hipster, scenester or hippie - this will make you chuckle as well…
new theme
so i switched to a new theme for my blog. i’m not sure is the links are confusing now though, they blend in with the normal text i feel. what are your thoughts?

sanity and postcards
in an effort to maintain my sanity, i have resorted to writing postcards. many, many postcards…
my favorite are the really tacky touristy postcards and the ones that are struggling to be classy. postcards, they are part of their own culture. one where the more flashy the colors, the more obnoxious the font, the better the postcard. and they are that awkward size where you can’t write...

i wish that i had a little creature that lived on my shoulder and told me when i was talking too much.
art posts
i submitted the thoreau piece that i did to an art blog. it was posted up and i went to see who reblogged it from there. it made me very sad to find that the person who reblogged it spends more of their time blogging about twilight. shame, for shame…
